That is going to be a lovely piece. Your hat looks warm and cozy! Have you ever tried YakTrax (https://yaktrax.implus.com) for your shoes? I used them all the time in the winter to keep myself upright when I'm walking the dogs. They work well -- and are pretty easy to get on and off your regular shoes or boots.
